Sara Morrissey, Director
Sara Morrissey was born in Mexico and lived east until her family settled in Astoria Oregon for the remainder of her childhood. Sara graduated as a valedictorian and class president from Astoria High and travelled across the country to attend Williams College. At Williams she ran cross-country and spent a semester abroad in Madrid Spain. Sara graduated in 2007 with bachelors’ degrees in Spanish and Economics as well as a concentration in International Relations with a focus in Latin America. After working for a year and a half in New York City in corporate fashion Sara decided to return to Oregon to pursue a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning.
Sara now lives in Portland and holds various internships as a planner. She also volunteers at Green Empowerment, a local NGO that focuses on renewable energy projects in developing countries. She has a strong interest in working with rural areas in developing countries on health, energy and transportation issues. In her free time she likes to go backpacking and running in beautiful Oregon. Sara is excited to be a member of MEJORC board of directors and looks forward to the development and growth of the organization!
